Risk assessment is not an end in itself. Its usefulness lies in the preventive actions it will lead to. Its purpose is not to justify the existence of a risk, whatever it may be, but, on the contrary, to implement effective measures aimed at eliminating risks, in accordance with the general principles of prevention. Extract from French circular no. 6 DRT of April 18, 2002.

Thus, occupational risk prevention covers many and varied risks, such as :

    • psychosocial risks (RPS)
    • risks related to physical activity
    • risks related to movement and traffic
    • biological risks
    • chemical risks
    • environmental risks

Each organization has its own specific features, which is why the DUERP cannot be generic. It has to be specific and adapted to each company, by carrying out an ongoing assessment of the risks associated with the organization, and by involving all the players.

Why should you produce a DUERP?

In addition to the penalties incurred in the absence of a DUERP – a fine of up to €1,500 per establishment, €3,000 if the offence is repeated, and even imprisonment for the employer in the event of prosecution for a workplace accident, for example – this is above all a question of employer responsibility.

Indeed, as an employer, it is imperative to comply with regulations and the Labor Code. The employer is responsible for the regulatory aspect, in this case in terms of health and safety at work.

Unfortunately, the absence of a DUERP is often not a question of ill will, but simply a lack of skills or expert resources to formalize it.

Drawing up a DUERP in compliance with the French Labor Code is a complex and time-consuming task. That’s why Boost’RH’s expert consultants can help you set it up and update it regularly (at least once a year).

Creation of an action plan or Annual Program for the Prevention of Occupational Risks and Improvement of Working Conditions (PAPRIPACT) for companies with over 50 employees), in accordance with the decree of March 18, 2022.
