Health and safety management: DUERP

Document Unique d'Evaluation des Risques Professionnels, what are your responsibilities?

Risk assessment is not an end in itself. Its usefulness lies in the preventive actions it will lead to. Its purpose is not to justify the existence of a risk, whatever it may be, but, on the contrary, to implement effective measures aimed at eliminating risks, in accordance with the general principles of prevention. Extract from French circular no. 6 DRT of April 18, 2002.

Thus, occupational risk prevention covers many and varied risks, such as :

    • psychosocial risks (RPS)
    • risks related to physical activity
    • risks related to movement and traffic
    • biological risks
    • chemical risks
    • environmental risks

Each organization has its own specific features, which is why the DUERP cannot be generic. It has to be specific and adapted to each company, by carrying out an ongoing assessment of the risks associated with the organization, and by involving all the players.

Why should you produce a DUERP?

In addition to the penalties incurred in the absence of a DUERP – a fine of up to €1,500 per establishment, €3,000 if the offence is repeated, and even imprisonment for the employer in the event of prosecution for a workplace accident, for example – this is above all a question of employer responsibility.

Indeed, as an employer, it is imperative to comply with regulations and the Labor Code. The employer is responsible for the regulatory aspect, in this case in terms of health and safety at work.

Unfortunately, the absence of a DUERP is often not a question of ill will, but simply a lack of skills or expert resources to formalize it.

Drawing up a DUERP in compliance with the French Labor Code is a complex and time-consuming task. That’s why Boost’RH’s expert consultants can help you set it up and update it regularly (at least once a year).

Our DUERP service

Don’t wait until you have a workplace accident or an inspection to realize that you don’t have a DUERP.

Our expert consultants can draw up the DUERP on site, at your company, or accompany you remotely, in the case of uncomplicated sites (few machines, few risks).

We provide the following services:

Diagnosis of the existing situation, in accordance with specific articles of the French Labor Code concerning health and safety: we carry out interviews and visits to your various sites to identify your activities, the related hazards and risks, as well as the frequency and probability of exposure, and finally to assess the damage incurred.
Creation and drafting of mandatory documents (Document Unique d’Evaluation des Risques, procedures, accident analysis tools, prevention plans, etc.).
Awareness-raising and training
Creation of an action plan or Annual Program for the Prevention of Occupational Risks and Improvement of Working Conditions (PAPRIPACT) for companies with over 50 employees), in accordance with the decree of March 18, 2022.
Regular DUERP updates.

Since December1, 2018, our business has been sold to a European plastics group. With no HR resources on site, we turned to Boost'RH for support. Boost'RH was very responsive in offering us support within a very short timeframe, and our collaboration with Boost'RH is much appreciated by all our staff. Boost'RH shares its in-depth knowledge of SMEs with us, and is an integral part of our management committee. It's a real source of ideas and a great help in guiding us through this period of transformation. The introduction of the CSE and the negotiation of new agreements were a resounding success thanks to this weekly support, which can be flexibly adjusted to suit the moment. Philippe Caquet, head of Boost'RH, is also ready to listen and help us if we need it. I recommend Boost'RH. for his ability to make proposals, his excellent contacts, his flexibility and his energy.
