Because every word has its importance, to make it easier for you to define and write the job of Human Resources Manager (M/F), we have prepared the main tasks of a HR Manager.
In constant contact with the company’s general management and employees, the HRM is the essential link in guaranteeing a good social climate. Below you will find details of the main tasks he/she carries out.
The tasks of the HR manager vary according to the size and activity of the company where he or she is to work. Reporting to the General Management or its HR Director, the HR Manager is in charge of the day-to-day management of Human Resources.
In addition to supervising personnel administration and payroll, he/she will carry out the recruitments requested by the operational staff: he/she will define with his/her internal clients the required profiles and conduct the recruitment interviews with the manager who needs to recruit.
The HR manager manages the employees of a company and accompanies them throughout their career: from their hiring to their departure from the company: salary increase, promotion, mobility, development of skills through training, retirement.
As an intermediary between management and employees, he/she ensures internal communication and participates in conflict resolution. He or she represents the management in front of the elected members of the CSE and the trade unions, but sometimes also carries out sanctions or dismissals.
A culture of the economic and business world enables him/her to provide appropriate solutions for both employees and managers. Versatile in all areas of human resources management (recruitment, payroll, training, etc.), the HR manager has a definite sense of organisation and masters HR and office software. In some sectors, knowledge of a foreign language is required.
The Human Resources Manager generally has a 5-year degree in human resources management. Professional masters in social law or management with a specialisation in human resources as well as masters in sociology or social sciences also prepare for this type of position.
Some business schools offer an HR specialisation from the 3rd year. In general, the HR Manager has one or more experiences as a Personnel Administration Manager or as a Skills Development Manager.
The HR Manager often has between 5 and 8 years experience in the HR function before taking up a position as Human Resources Manager. Their gross salary is between €40k and €55k per year, depending on the structure and sector of activity in which they work. At the end of their career, their salary can reach €80,000 gross per year.
The HR Manager often moves to a larger structure, or to a Human Resources Director position with a more strategic and forward-looking connotation. He or she may also choose to join an HR consultancy, as a human resources consultant or personal coach to managers.
